Instructions for compiling your own version of open source Scrabble:

1. Locate and study a public domain photo of a Scrabble board. Here is one from Wikimedia Commons:

2. Also examine a public domain photo of a full set of Scrabble tiles for your preferred language. This English set is from the Commons:

3. Create a board by marking a 15 by 15 grid of boxes on a flat surface. Denote the boxes that correspond to special bonuses.

4. Create the tiles (100 for the English set).

5. Enjoy a job well done, and play!
